The pesantren or madrasah curriculum usually uses this book as a handbook of fiqh for novice students or the general public.The author is Syeh Salim Bin Abdullah Bin Said Bin Sumair Al Hadrami, As Syafii who was born in the Dzi Asybah area, Hadramaut, Yemen. He was born from the descendants of scholars. His father, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Said, was a prominent scholar who was respected by the community. He cared for and taught various religious disciplines, so that Sheikh Salim became a great scholar who was very well known.Shaykh Salim is known to be very polite, always remembers Allah, and also reads the Koran a lot. Syeh Al Hadrawi Al Makki said that Sheikh Salim had recited the Koran while he was tawaf at the Kabah.Syekh Salim died in the Betawi area or Jakarta in 1271 H. However, his grave is not clear until now, it is said that his grave was behind the Al Makmur mosque, Tanah Abang.Among his works are the book Safinah An Najah, which contains theological issues (pillars of faith), as well as discussing issues of worship (pillars of Islam), starting with issues of ablution procedures, preparation before prayer, as well as related to the pillars of prayer and things that cancel it. Although this book is very concise, it is very profound.Many scholars have commented on this book, either in the form of sharah (explanation), or making nazam or verse to make it easier to memorize. This book is a proof of his expertise in the field of Shafiiyah jurisprudence, which is growing rapidly in Southeast Asia, because its contents are easily digested by various groups.
